Browser companion privacy notice

This notice describes the data handled by the Fareof Browser Companion extension. It connects a Fareof workspace to LinkedIn actions in your local Chrome browser.

What the companion handles

• Your Fareof pairing code and replacement device credential authenticate the extension to your workspace. Pairing codes expire after ten minutes. Device credentials remain valid until revoked or replaced.
• Your signed-in LinkedIn profile URL is checked locally and sent to Fareof during pairing and task polling to identify the paired account.
• Fareof sends the extension the selected recipient’s profile URL, name, message draft, task identifier, and expiry. The extension reads the relevant LinkedIn page and conversation locally to check identity, connection state, and whether a conversation needs review.
• The extension sends task outcomes and connection check-ins to Fareof. It does not upload the contents of existing LinkedIn conversations or a general browsing history.

What stays in Chrome

LinkedIn passwords and session cookies stay with LinkedIn in your browser. This extension does not request cookie access, export your LinkedIn session, or upload your password. It stores the Fareof device credential, paired profile URL, local operating state, and pending task outcome in extension-local storage. Content scripts cannot access that storage.

Permissions and destinations

Access is restricted to https://www.linkedin.com and https://app.fareof.com. Scripting operates the supported LinkedIn controls; alarms schedule pending tasks; storage preserves pairing and interrupted-task state. The extension has no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking code. Network requests for task synchronization go to Fareof over HTTPS. LinkedIn independently processes your activity under its own policies. Fareof’s application infrastructure may process request metadata for operation and diagnostics.

Control and retention

Pause tasks from the extension. An action already claimed may finish. To revoke the extension’s Fareof access, pause your agents and use Disconnect companion in Fareof’s LinkedIn settings; replacing a pairing also revokes the previous credential. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage, but does not itself revoke a copied device credential or delete server campaign records. Pairing credentials are stored as hashes on the server. Campaign task outcomes remain part of your workspace activity records. Contact support to request deletion of retained workspace data.

Purpose

The companion uses this data to perform the workspace’s configured outreach tasks, check account and recipient identity, and prevent uncertain sends from being repeated. It does not sell data, use it for advertising, or provide unrelated parties with the extension’s collected data. Campaigns may also use the services configured in the Fareof application; those are separate from the extension’s local LinkedIn processing.
